Three dresses.

Published on May 6, 2013, in Glimmerfjäll.

I love all three of these, but I never do wear them. The hoarder part of me wants to keep them badly but they do have to go. Hoping they will end up in good homes! You can click the picture for a link to each etsy listing. Also – the coupon 1STCOUPON entered upon checkout gives you 20 % off your purchase! No minimum limit, and for no limited time (for now…). I only ask of you to please leave reviews upon recieving your orders! :)

This is what I wore yesterday as Frej and I went to Domen’s art school exhibition and then for a couple of beers. I found the dress at Reningsborgs second hand in Angered earlier in the day for 65 kr and was absolutely delighted. I love it so much!

Playlist #4.

Published on May 1, 2013, in Playlist.

I had too much spare time the other week and made a serpent themed playlist as I realised so many of my favourite bands had made snake songs! (I have to say I find Spotify way more fun now that I have my dad’s old smart phone, didn’t realise how much I enjoy listening to music on the tram again).

1. The Bootleggers feat. Emmylou Harris – Fire in the Blood / Snake Song
2. Einstürzende Neubauten – Snake
3. Sharon Van Etten – Serpents
4. Cocteau Twins – Serpentskirt
5. PJ Harvey – Long Snake Moan
6. Marilyn Manson – Snake Eyes And Sissies
7. Dead Can Dance – The Snake And The Moon
8. Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan – Snake Song
9. L7 – Snake Handler
10. Emily Jane White – Red Serpent

1903 anatomical illustrations.

Published on May 1, 2013, in Glimmerfjäll.

I used to collect vintage medical books no matter what their condition was in and these are from a 1903 one with pages falling out of it. I’ve kept them around for years thinking that I’d do something with them. But I am realising I won’t, and since I am in a total spirit of cleaning out my possessions, these too have just ended up in the Etsy shop!

Head, brain, jaw!

Female reproductive organs.

Close up of eye.

Glimmerfjäll.

Published on April 23, 2013, in Glimmerfjäll.

I’ve opened an Etsy shop today! It’s called Glimmerfjäll, which means fool’s gold in Swedish. The best word for fool’s gold is “cat gold” but that was sadly already taken by someone else as a name so I’ll settle for the synonym! All of these dresses and a few other things are added to the site today – more are to come! I am cleaning out my closet more than I have ever before, and letting some of my very favourite things go…

Instagram, at last we meet.

Published on April 20, 2013, in Life.

Hey everybody! I am finally back home in Gothenburg, saying hi to the cats.

I’ve been avoiding getting a smartphone for quite a few years now. Also, I’ve said that if I had to get one, I would avoid apps. But, my phone has been malfunctioning more often lately and father had an old samsung galaxy work phone that he didn’t use anymore.  I am not picky. And I could not resist temptation.

If you want to add me on Instagram my username is: lilykarinlinnea.

Inspiration #3.

I am back in Sweden again, for now. America (Portland!) – give me a job – let me back in! I am good at so many things, you’d be impressed!
Anyway – here’s a compilation of things that I try to make myself feel better with.

Written.

Margaret Atwood: 1.

“When you’re young, you think everything you do is disposable. You move from now to now, crumpling time up in your hands, tossing it away. You’re your own speeding car. You think you can get rid of things, and people too—leave them behind. You don’t yet know about the habit they have, of coming back.
Time in dreams is frozen. You can never get away from where you’ve been.”
― Margaret Atwood

Music.

Album recommendations (links go to Spotify):

Soulsavers – Broken

Catatonia – Paper Scissor Stone

The Knife – Shaking the Habitual

Visual.

Max Greenfield ( as Schmidt/New Girl) I watch this sometimes to pump myself up for exercise!

One of my favourite songs.

Patti Smith giving some sound life advice.

Published on April 16, 2013, in Life.

I just got back home to Sweden again, flew to Stockholm and had time to visit my old dear friend Adina. Who also had all these pictures I thought were lost forever! We threw a little scanner party together.
10 years ago almost to the month – I was 16 years old and it was the early summer of 2003.

With Elisabeth.

With Paulina.

With Adinas little sister Norea, now only a year younger than I was in these pictures. So strange. This doesn’t feel long ago at all.

Outfit: April 9th 2013.

Published on April 9, 2013, in What I Wore.

Hello! This is what I am wearing today. I am on day 6 of my count down to leave here, and it saddens me. Two and a half months is not enough for me in Portland. I do miss my angry cat and my flatmates though. This dress needs ironing, I am very aware. But I don’t have access to that here, and I am lazy… :P

Beige and purple cardigan – Thrifted (in Sweden)
Vintage cameo/love letter print dress – Second hand, from Buffalo Exchange
Black 60s bag - Thrifted (Sweden too)
Tights – Again, Hansel from Basel
Mary janes – Belongs to Shannon, I am borrowing them while I am here

I bought this dress much for it’s fantastic collar.

And the great print with cameos, letters and strange woodlike cirkles!
